We don't own any Macs, so are unable to test these fixes. However, if you know of any others, please feel free to let us know and we'll post the info here.
If you use a Mac and have trouble accessing either Unimatic or Skynet, try the following:
Q: Will AOL work on Macintosh for Unimatic/Apollo access?
A: Yes, as long as your Mac supports OS X.
System Requirements
In order to use a Macintosh computer with AOL to access Unimatic and Apollo, you must be using OS X. Mac OS versions8.x or 9.x are not supported.
All Mac users must have at least 64MB of RAM to run Sun Microsystems Java applications. More RAM will improve the performance of your access to Unimatic/Apollo.
For Mac OS version 10.2.6 users, Sun Java Runtime Environment 1.4.1 or higher is required.
For Mac OS version 10.3.1 and above, Sun Java Runtime Environment 1.4.2 or higher is required.
Forget it. Install Firefox (www.mozilla.com) for the Mac and try using the browser to visit www.gounimatic.com and see if you can get into Unimatic.
These versions of the Mac OS are not supported by United/AOL but you could install Apple's Mac Runtime for Java (MRJ) version 2.2.3 or higher and use the URL http://airline.compuserve.com/ual/launch_mb2.asp in your browser (IE) address field to get access to Unimatic/Apollo. To obtain the latest version of the Apple MRJ (2.2.5), download the file at http://developer.apple.com/java/classic.html. Bear in mind that this procedure is not supported and is provided as a helpful hint only to get connected to Unimatic/Apollo.
You must CONFIGURE IEas follows: START IE. CLICK “Edit” on the pull-down menu at the top of IE, and then SELECT “Preferences.” CLICK on “Java” on the left-hand side. In the “Java Options” box, make sure there is a check in the box next to “Enable Java (Apple MRJ),” “Log Java output” and “Log Java Exceptions.” You may, but are not required to, check “Alert on exception.” In the “Security Options” section, make sure “Network Access” is listed as “Unrestricted Access.” CLICK “OK” to close the dialog box.
You must have the AOL client installed on your Mac.
