This past year, we have received more letters than ever before requesting a Jumpseatnews "community".  This would mean adding a new area (or possibly a sister website) that would allow direct conversations/dialogue between Jumpseatnews visitors -- both publicly and privately.

It would be more than a typical Web discussion board. Rather, I envision that it would also use the latest technology to allow people to connect with each other through e-mail, RSS feeds, Web services, etc. in addition to posting areas.

I have a very good idea of how to proceed with this and have in fact already researched the technology and platforms I would want to use.  But, more important than my opinion, is what you think.  This would be a significant addition to Jumpseatnews.  Let's be clear: this website is not going anywhere and I will not take it down for this project.  What I am talking about is a new area or sister website that would be in addition to Jumpseatnews but would be more of a community-based area instead of simply static pages containing news.

So, if you have a couple of minutes, use the box below and fire away at whatever you think.  I am still way too busy changing baby's diapers and trying to catch up on sleep whenever I can, but I promise that I will read (probably read two or three times) anything that is submitted using the box below.
